Environmental Management Training Talk
A training talk on environmental management for all staff - the environmental management system (EMS), the environmental policy, everyday responsibilities and how to report environmental incidents. The download gives you a one-page attendance record with the talk description already filled in, plus the full guidance document to run the talk from.

Talk Description
- The environmental management system (EMS) and the environmental policy
- Your responsibilities, including environmental objectives and suggestions for improvement

- Keeping up to date with environmental legal requirements
- Waste storage, recycling and hazardous waste
- Emergency response, and reporting environmental incidents and spills
Running the Talk
Read through the guidance beforehand, talk the points through with the team, then have everyone sign the record. Keep the signed record as evidence that the briefing took place and who received it.
Why Staff Suggestions Are Included
People doing the work day to day often spot waste, energy use or pollution risks that managers miss. The talk invites suggestions for improvement alongside the objectives, so staff see they have a part in the system rather than just rules to follow.
Adapting the Talk
Both files are fully editable, so add your current environmental objectives, where the environmental policy is displayed, your waste and recycling points and the person staff should report incidents to. Update the talk description if you cover extra points.
Keeping the Training Record
File the signed record with your training records, or log the talk against each attendee in a training matrix, so you can show who has been briefed and when.
Who Is It For?
All staff, including office, site and warehouse teams. It works at induction, as an annual refresher and when the environmental policy or objectives change.
